Scott Pine - Christmas card

Scott Pine - Christmas card

The brief was to create a interesting christmas card, I wanted to make a card which would also be like a small stocking filler. From research the idea of a flip book card which was made using a typical zine layout and folding pattern was the solution for what I wanted to create.

I experimented with different folds and decided to go with the book bind fold. Which would give me a few pages from a single sheet and from there I could create 2 gates to hide and also extend the story. Each gate you flip reveals more story on the actual gate and the other side shows a new piece of the illustration.

The card comes with its own custom envelope. Once the envelope is opened, the card is wrapped in a transparent paper with a bow around it. The act of unwrapping which adds excitement give the card more value.

The story is that of a christmas tree called Scott Pine. Scott tells his tale of starting life in a forest to being sold to being recycled.
